Challenge
Olive was approached to create the name and branding for a new software product that was a comprehensive digital dictation management solution.
Solution
After a thorough analysis of the product and market, we established the name, positioning and messaging with the name Verdatum – combining the message of accuracy and data retention. "A better way to watch your words" was developed as the tagline to communicate the message in a memorable and engaging way. The positioning line, "Introducing the first true 'end to end' digital dictation solution" established that this was the first total solution offered in the marketplace.

The logo was designed to convey the harmony and unity that the software creates from massive amounts of data and resources. Around the logo, an overall visual language was created around a message of “Ever wonder where your words go?” to engage the audience on a very direct level.
Results
The success of the comprehensive identity lies in the fact that the creation was driven by the end user and customer. A strong simple message was created around an elegant and bold visual identity.
 
" Verdatum approached Olive at a point in it’s history where we were extremely excited about the technology that we were developing, but concerned about capturing that excitement and communicating it to the market through our corporate identity, brand, and subsequent ad campaigns. We interviewed a number of companies, but in Olive we found the precise balance between big firm ideas and capabilities and smaller firm attention. It was important to us that our firm have a presence in NY, the advertising and media center of the world, but we needed to find someone whose creativity was not stifled by large firm bureaucracy.

With respect to the administrative portion of the project, Olive precisely met our expectations. Our project, which was complex and lengthy, was intricately planned and executed. Not one deadline was missed, and the project was brought in exactly on budget. We did not encounter one single event or cost which was not discussed and planned. They were flexible about changes made over the course of the project and since, have extended themselves every step of the way to make sure that we were satisfied.

With respect to the creative portion of the project, their performance exceeded our expectations. They were exactly what they advertise; they “got to the point,” helping us to identify and pinpoint our message to our intended market. They developed the branding of our product multi-dimensionally, giving us the ability to communicate to the market our enterprise wide capabilities, which was key in conveying ot the market that we had the technological scale to serve large customers. They also developed a strategy which helped us deliver our message to key decision makers in our market, even though individually they often perform different management functions in their organizations.

Olive's approach has been key in the rapid adoption of our technology. While the technology we have developed is everything our customers could ask for, Olive has helped us move the technology from the engineering lab to our customer's IT departments by developing and executing an excellent brand, identity and advertising strategy.
