Olive was asked to develop an online game as a companion piece to the children’s show GHOSTWRITER. Built entirely in FLASH, the game had to have the ability to allow for future episodes and mysteries to be added by Noggin’s in-house staff.
Olive designed an overall game shell that included a master ‘Casebook’ with game modules for a cryptogram, anagram and elimination. The main file read all of the episode specific content from an external configuration file while all of the artwork was read in from external .swf files. By keeping all the episode specific content in external files, Noggin had the ability to infinitely add new episodes by simply modifying text files and basic artwork files.
Launched in November 2001, the game was a huge success for Noggin, generating a new buzz for the show and being the most played game on their site for the initial period it was launched.

Olive provided us with quality services that one would expect from a larger company while also providing the hands-on attention and promptness that one would expect from a smaller firm. It was totally painless."
